Step into the world of sustainable hospitality at an eco-lodge nestled in the misty hills of Wayanad, Kerala. Volunteers gain real, hands-on experience in housekeeping, property management, and eco-property maintenance — the operational backbone of any successful nature retreat. You’ll learn how eco-lodges balance guest experience with sustainability, from room turnovers and inventory management to maintaining nature trails and green infrastructure. Surrounded by coffee plantations, forests, and wildlife sanctuaries, this program blends practical hospitality skills with immersive rural Kerala living — ideal for anyone exploring careers in eco-tourism, hospitality, or sustainable property management.
7:00 AM – Wake up, breakfast at the lodge
8:00 AM – Morning briefing on the day's tasks and property priorities
8:30 – 11:30 AM – Housekeeping rounds and room/property preparation
12:00 PM – Lunch break
1:00 – 3:30 PM – Property maintenance tasks (trail upkeep, minor repairs, sustainability systems check)
3:30 – 4:30 PM – Learning session with lodge manager on hospitality operations
4:30 PM onward – Free time: nature walks, local exploration, or rest
7:30 PM – Group dinner with lodge staff and fellow volunteers
Evenings – Optional bonfire, storytelling, or quiet reflection time amid the forest surroundings
Support daily housekeeping — room turnovers, cleaning standards, linen and amenity management.
Assist with property inventory management and supply tracking.
Help maintain guest-facing spaces to eco-lodge hospitality standards.
Support basic property maintenance — minor repairs, garden and pathway upkeep, waste segregation.
Assist with sustainable systems maintenance (rainwater harvesting, composting, solar setups where applicable).
Support front-desk or guest coordination tasks during peak hours, if trained.
Help maintain nature trails, signage, and outdoor guest areas.
