About the program
Learn the living science of Ayurveda in Jamnagar, home to India’s oldest and most respected Ayurvedic institution. Volunteers gain hands-on exposure to traditional medicine preparation and authentic Ayurveda practice, working alongside experienced practitioners in herbal medicine preparation, treatment support, and patient care assistance. You’ll learn about medicinal plants, classical formulations, and treatment philosophies rooted in centuries-old texts, all within a genuine clinical and educational environment. Surrounded by Jamnagar’s herbal gardens, heritage architecture, and coastal charm, this program offers a rare, credible immersion into traditional healing — ideal for wellness enthusiasts, students, and practitioners alike.
7:00 AM – Wake up, light breakfast
8:00 AM – Morning session: observation of patient consultations or treatments (under supervision)
9:30 – 12:30 PM – Hands-on work in the pharmacy/preparation unit — herb processing, formulation assistance
1:00 PM – Lunch break
2:00 – 4:00 PM – Learning session with Ayurvedic physicians on treatment philosophy and classical texts
4:00 – 5:00 PM – Guided walk through the medicinal herb garden
5:00 PM onward – Free time: city exploration, temple visits, or rest
7:30 PM – Group dinner and reflection
Evenings – Optional sessions on yoga, meditation, or Ayurvedic lifestyle practices
Assist practitioners with traditional medicine preparation — herb processing, classical formulation support.
Support Ayurvedic pharmacy operations, including ingredient sorting and preparation.
Observe and assist during Panchakarma and treatment sessions, under practitioner supervision.
Help maintain and document the medicinal herb garden.
Assist with patient intake support and basic clinic coordination (non-clinical tasks).
Support documentation of traditional formulations and treatment protocols.
Assist in organizing educational materials for teaching sessions.
Participate in guided learning sessions on Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment philosophy.
